AEGIA–VARKHAN WAR: THE BLACK SEA DIVIDE
DCS Campaign Readme - Version 1.0 (Beta)
============================================================

1. ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN
------------------------------------------------------------
June 2038. In the wake of regional nuclear exchanges that
shattered nations and burned continents, millions fled toward
the one region that still remaining several resources, the
Black Sea basin. Borders dissolved, armies bartered their
weapons for food, and from the chaos two powers rose: the
Aegia Alliance and the Varkhan Order, sharing the same region
but with rival visions born from the ashes of the old world.

You are Paladin, leader of Templar Squadron, tasked with
defending Aegia’s foothold alongside your trusted wingman
Mace. Reinforcements come in the form of the unpredictable
mercenaries of Nomad Group, while across the divide the
Varkhan Valkyries prepare to claim the sky for themselves.

The balance is razor-thin. The world has collapsed, but the
air war for its future is about to begin.

4. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Do I need any external mods?
A: No. The campaign uses only official DCS World assets.

Q: Some missions feel challenging, other not. Is this intended?
A: Yes. The campaign includes progressive pressure. Still, every
mission is designed to be beatable with situational awareness.

Q: Mission scoring didn’t advance the campaign. What can I do?
A: Ensure the mission was flown to completion and that no
critical objectives were missed. Only RTB provides 100% of goals.

Q: The AI sometimes behaves unpredictably. Is this normal?
A: Yes. AI performance may vary depending on aircraft type,
altitude, fuel state and mission scripting. This is
expected behavior inside the DCS engine.

Q: Do I really need to follow the ALL-CAPS messages and
   AWACS Thundera’s orders?
A: The campaign’s narrative and trigger flow assume that you
follow those scripted instructions. Ignoring them may harm
the experience or even block mission progress.

Q: Is the story going to continue in a future campaign?
A: The war’s outcome has opened… possibilities. Some say
the Black Sea is only the beginning. Time will tell.

5. KNOWN ISSUES AND BEHAVIOR NOTES
------------------------------------------------------------
- AI fighters may occasionally lose energy and fail to climb
after long engagements; this is a DCS AI limitation.
- Sometimes AI units do not complete their assigned tasks as
scripted in the Mission Editor. If this occurs (for example,
Viper not attacking its targets correctly), the player may
need to restart the mission; usually this corrects the AI
  behavior on the next run.
- Large trigger-driven explosions (especially in Mission 4)
can cause temporary FPS drops on some systems.
- Wingman AI at low altitude can behave erratically, changing
altitude and losing formation repeatedly. Formation changes
were used to mitigate this, but the issue is native to DCS
  and not fully removable.
- In Mission 7, the wingman may struggle to land, refuel and
rearm in sync with the player. This can be mitigated by
waiting longer on the ramp before engine start and taxi.
Other aircraft will wait for your takeoff; use time
  acceleration (Ctrl+Z) if needed.

If you encounter an issue not listed here, please report it.
